Avalon Organics Shampoo Reviews

This is a review for the Avalon Organics shampoo. I’ve been using it for 1 year after I decided to switch from harsh salon and mainstream shampoos (such as Pantene, Tresemme, Matrix, and Paul Mitchell). To give you some background on my hair, I have long hair (goes halfway down my back) with medium thickness. My hair is color treated and is straight with some waves. It’s weight is very light-weight and has some frizz on the top layer, especially in the front sections. I’ve always took good care of my hair, I almost never blow dry it and I heat style it 4-5 times per month. Below is my Avalon Organics shampoo reviews.

Avalon Organics Shampoo Reviews

This is my go to shampoo and I’ve been using it for a year. I’ve always used regular shampoo with harsh detergents and this shampoo is seriously a breath of fresh air. After using this shampoo 4 times my hair was already 30% less frizzy. What I realized is the shampoos I was using before were too harsh and they were stripping my hair way too much. After using this shampoo for 4 months my hair was 60% less frizzy.

Cleaning Power- It’s an absolute must for me to have good cleaning power in my shampoo because I only wash my hair every 5 days. I like it to stay clean and oil free until the 5th day. This shampoo cleans my hair very well without leaving it frizzy and that’s one of it’s best features. Sometimes I put coconut oil in my hair before I shower and this shampoo does a good job of removing it. I always pour a little on my palm and mix with with water and rub my hands together before applying it to my scalp. I do this to prevent too much friction on my hair while it’s wet and susceptible to damage. This shampoo produces a good amount of suds so I know my hair is getting cleaned. The main ingredient is Aloe Vera gel which is a natural oil remover which is why it can clean hair naturally and effectively.

Scent- Lavender essential oil is very therapeutic and calming. The scent is strong while shampooing however, once your hair dries it fades to a light scent. I am sensitive to strong smells and I have to say I am happy with the scent.

Additional Uses- I also use this shampoo as a natural and gentle face wash. I love reading labels of the products I buy and I realized that the main ingredients of the Avalon Organics Shampoos and Avalon Organics facial cleansers are very similar. I love the fact that I can use the same product to wash my hair and face and it definitely saves me money (because the Avalon organics facial washer cost more than their shampoos). I was visiting my mom last month and she normally uses Neutrogena face wash and I told her to try my shampoo as a face wash. She’s now a convert and loves the fact that her face isn’t so dry like before.
